This promises to be a big year for trees in Mt. Lake.
A big project, involving 120 new trees, is targeted for the community, with a number of them planted near the cemetery. It is part of Mt. Lake’s drinking water management area, according to Dave Bucklin of the tree commission.
This is not a reaction to the recent report that the county’s first emerald ash borer infestation was spotted north of Mt. Lake along County Road 1 (just south of Comfrey). Bucklin said this plan was in the works prior to that report.
