Windom Area gymnastics junior Brooklyn Paulson closed a stellar season Friday, taking part in the Class A State Meet at Champlin Park High School.
Paulson advanced to the state meet in vault, coming away from the meet with a 44th-place finish.
Paulson scored an 8.6 on her first attempt in the competition, then scored an 8.55 on her second attempt. The higher of the two scores is used as the final score for the competitor.
The highest-placing competitor from Section 3A on vault was Sabrina Segar of Martin County Area, who scored a 9.4 to finish in a tie for 19th place. The individual event champion was Jada Olsen of Perham, who scored a 9.875.
Olsen also was the individual all-around champion with a score of 37.8.
Watertown-Mayer captured the team championship with a score of 146.35. Worthington, the Section 3A champion, finished in sixth place with a score of 142.075.
