At last week’s meeting, the Windom City Council approved an updated development plan for Gove Acres, the city’s upcoming 55-and-older community.
The amended plan allows developers to build the street and utilities according to city specifications. After construction, the city takes them on as “public” and is responsible for maintenance and snow removal. The plan was submitted by the project’s engineers and approved by city officials.
The development is expected to have 11 one-level cottages (with no steps) and four townhomes. Work at the site, just southwest of Windom Area Health, could begin this month if conditions allow.
