Eagles top Saints in finale

St. James 36-36 = 72
Windom 37-39 = 76

The Windom boys basketball team held off a St. James team that was red hot from outside Friday night, edging the Saints 76-72 at Windom.

The Eagles shot 48% from the field for the game, but St. James countered with 15 three-pointers in the game. The Saints also held a 34-31 edge on the glass over the Eagles.

But Windom did damage from the free throw line, outscoring the Saints 18-5 from the stripe to seal the win.

Conner Redman led the Eagles with 25 points. Dylan Serreyn added 14 and Austin Doorenbos and Henry Erickson scored 12 points each.

WWG 33-39 = 72
HBC 20-33 = 52

Westbrook-Walnut Grove clinched a share of the Red Rock Conference title Saturday afternoon, defeating Hills-Beaver Creek 72-53 in Hills.

WWG and Southwest Christian finished with 14-2 records in conference play, with SWC sweeping the season series from WWG.

The Chargers started strong Saturday, building a comfortable halftime lead. In the second half, senior Ethan Mischke poured on the offense, scoring 17 of his game-high 30 points.

Hunter Lien added 14 points and Brady Ross scored 10 in the win.

MLAC 23-24 = 47

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey turned in its best defensive performance of the season in the regular season finale Saturday, shutting down Murray County Central for a 47-30 victory in Mt. Lake.

The Wolverines held MCC to 23% shooting from the field and forced 19 turnovers in the game. That allowed the Wolverines to pull away in the second half, turning a six-point halftime lead into a 17-point win.

Ethan Nickel led MLAC with 13 points. Kolby Kremmin scored 11 in the win.
