March is FoodShare Month in Minnesota, which is not only important to community food shelves throughout the state, but also to the general public.
Public donations of food and money, now through April 11, are supplemented by Minnesota FoodShare. Such donations are key for food shelves, including the Windom Area Sharing Center, which has undergone some changes during the pandemic.
In October, Christine Engler took over as director of the local food shelf, replacing Dan Jones, who had managed the Sharing Center the previous year.
The days and hours of operation have gone back to those used in earlier years: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Engler notes that she is available by appointment for food emergency situations. The Center’s phone number remains the same: 507-822-7210.
For more on the Sharing Center, see the story in the March 17 issue of the Cottonwood County Citizen.
