The Windom Eagle girls basketball team used balanced offense and tight defense to overwhelm Adrian-Ellsworth Thursday, claiming a 64-48 victory at Adrian.
The Eagles led by six at halftime but quickly pulled away to start the second half with a series of driving buckets and four three-pointers.
Kait Huska led the Eagles with 18 points, all on three-pointers. Allison Letcher scored 17, Delaney Smith had 14 and Gracie Bucher scored 10 in the win.
RRC 37-23 = 60
Edgerton 23-12 = 35
Red Rock Central’s defense and post play were dominant Thursday night as the Falcons cruised to a 60-35 victory at Edgerton.
The Dutchmen had no answer for Falcon junior Karli Arkell, who poured in a career-high 33 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked six shots in the win. Arkell scored 19 points in the first half as RRC raced to a 14-point lead. The Falcons then held Edgerton to 12 second-half points while feeding Arkell in the post for 14 second-half points.
Lilly Stavnes added 12 points in the win for the Falcons.

The Westbrook-Walnut Grove girls basketball team caught fire on offense in the second half Thursday, pulling away for a 67-47 win over Renville County West at Renville.
WWG held a slim six-point halftime lead, but roared to life on offense in the second half. Isabel Klumper knocked down a pair of treys and poured in 15 second-half points, while Olivia Klumper added 12 second half points.
Meanwhile, WWG’s defense turned up the pressure, forcing several second half turnovers.
Isabel Klumper paced WWG with 23 points in the win. Olivia Klumper added 19 and Kelsey DeSmith scored nine.Â
