A last-minute addition to the schedule and a week-long layoff didn’t throw off the Windom Area boys hockey team Tuesday night, as the Eagles skated to a 5-2 win at Marshall.
The Eagles peppered the Tiger net with 44 shots in the game and scored three unanswered goals in the final two periods to claim the win.
The Eagles jumped to the lead in the first period on a goal by Chase Hamlett. Alex Espenson added a goal early in the second period, giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
Marshall answered, scoring a pair of goals to tie the game, but the Eagles regained the lead 10 seconds after Marshall tied the game, as Sonny Heil knocked in a shot for a goal.
Later in the second period, Cragen Porath blasted a shot from the point for a power play goal, giving the Eagles a 4-2 lead. Brady Espenson netted a goal early in the third period, capping the scoring.
Eagle goalie Dan Stubbe finished with 15 saves in the win.
