Cobras earn Saturday sweep

The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team picked up a pair of victories at a triangular Saturday in Springfield.

The Cobras defeated LeSueur-Henderson 45-18, then defeated Springfield 45-33.

In the opening match against LSH, the Cobras jumped to a 32-0 lead, winning the first six weight classes. The Cobras had falls from Preston Xayachak (106), Noah Holmberg (132) and Kade Sammons (152). Tucker Renquist (126) recorded a technical fall. Alex Altman (285) won by major decision and Caden Swoboda (138) won a decision.

Against Springfield, the Cobras again won the first six weight classes, building a 36-0 lead. The Cobras had falls from Jared Hunter (113), Renquist (120), Holmberg (126) and Eagan Maras (132). Altman (285) added a decision victory.

Falcons earn split

The Red Rock Central wrestling team split a triangular Friday in Lamberton, defeating Madelia-Truman-Martin Luther 60-10 before falling 41-35 to St. Clair-Mankato Loyola.

Against MTML, the Falcons received seven forfeit wins, with two weights being double forfeits. RRC had falls from Evan Bartholomaus (113), Carter Beranek (132) and Damon Holmen (160).

Against SCML, the Falcons received four forfeit wins. RRC had a fall from Damian Osland (195) and a technical fall from Zak Zimmerman (126).
