Cobras fall twice Thursday

The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team took a pair of defeats Thursday in Windom, falling to Minneota 52-17 and to Pipestone 41-36.

In the opener against Minneota, the Cobras fell behind 25-0 before Caden Swoboda won a technical fall at 138 pounds. Kade Sammons (145) and Trenton Renquist (160) won by decision and Micah Holmberg (182) won by fall.

Against Pipestone, the Cobras trailed 17-0 early, but rallied to take a 36-35 lead before Pipestone won a fall at heavyweight to seal the match. The Cobras had falls from Sammons (138), Holmberg (182) and Cyrus Bjorklund (220). Tucker Renquist (126) and Swoboda (132) added decision victories and the Cobras received two forfeits.
