It’s a little early to start cleaning out garages and basements, but local residents can at least mark their calendars for the annual citywide clean-up.
At last night’s meeting, the Windom City Council settled on May 15 for the city’s annual spring clean-up event.
City Administrator Steve Nasby said there are two options available–April 17 and May 15. Councilman James Nelson pointed out that the community can still receive significant snow and ice in April, but poor weather is less likely on May 15.
While this year’s clean-up date does not interfere with Mother’s Day, or graduations, it does fall on opening weekend of the fishing season.
For more on the clean-up, see the Feb. 24 edition of the Cottonwood County Citizen and Citizen eEdition.
