Eagle boys skate past Tigers

The Windom Area boys hockey team rallied late in the second period Tuesday night, ending the game with four unanswered goals in a 5-2 victory at Marshall.

The Eagles led 1-0 after one period, as Ethan Purrington scored with just 1:37 left in the opening frame.

Marshall took the lead with a pair of goals in the late stages of the second period, but the Eagles regrouped with two Caleb Rivera goals in the final two minutes of the period, including one with just 10 seconds left on the clock.

That gave the Eagles momentum, as the offense added a pair of goals in the final period. Keegan Classen netted a goal at the 6:18 mark and Alex Espenson sealed the win with 1:07 left on the clock.

Wyatt Haugen and Purrington each added two assists in the game.

Marshall outshot the Eagles 28-27. Goalie Dan Stubbe finished with 26 saves in the victory.
