Westbrook-Walnut Grove surged in the second half Thursday, rallying for a 65-58 win over Murray County Central at Westbrook.
MCC held a three-point halftime lead, but the Charger offense used good balance to battle back. Meanwhile, WWG’s defense clamped down, limiting MCC’s chances to score from long distance.
Hunter Lien led a quartet of Chargers in double figures with 20. Ethan Mischke and Cole VanDeWiele each scored 13 and Coltin Pilaczynski added 12.

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey couldn’t slow down a red-hot Southwest Christian offense Thursday night, as the Eagles cruised to a 73-49 victory at Mt. Lake.
SWC hit 12 three-pointers in the game and shot 67% from three-point range for the night. Meanwhile, the Wolverines got off to a frigid start, as SWC held a 22-point halftime lead.
Ethan Nickel heated up in the second half, scoring a game-high 20 points for the Wolverines, 16 in the second half. Kade Wassman added eight points in the loss.Â
