The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team closed the gap from a previous meeting with Worthington, but still had to settle for a split of a triangular Tuesday in Worthington.
The Cobras opened with a 40-33 loss to Worthington, as the Trojans won four of the last five weights, including two by forfeit. The Cobras had falls from Tucker Renquist (120), Caden Swoboda (132) and Alex Altman (285). Winning by decision were Preston Xayachak (106), Eagan Maras (138) and Kade Sammons (145).
WML finished the triangular with a 56-24 win over Fulda-Murray County Central. Earning falls for the Cobras were Xayachak (106), Jared Hunter (113), Noah Holmberg (120), Trenton Renquist (152), Matthew Ekstrom (170) and Micah Holmberg (182). Tucker Renquist (126) and Swoboda (138) each won by major decision.
