Cobras sweep, Falcons split
The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team went 2-0, while Red Rock Central went 1-1 in a triangular held Saturday in Windom.
WML opened the day with a 42-30 victory over Luverne. The Cobras received six forfeit victories. WML’s only on-mat win in the match was a fall from Aiden Holmberg (106).
RRC then picked up a 61-18 victory over Luverne. The Falcons had falls from Evan Bartholomaus (106) and Damian Osland (170). Bowen Hesse (113) won by major decision and Payton Harazin (160) won a 10-8 overtime decision.
The day’s finale saw WML claim a 51-27 win over RRC. The Cobras won seven falls and a decision in the lower weights to take control of the match.
Earning falls for the Cobras were Thavien Xayachak (113), Noah Holmberg (120), Caden Swoboda (132), Eagan Maras (138), Kade Sammons (145), Trenton Renquist (152), Montgomery Bjorklund (160) and Alex Altman (220). Tucker Renquist (126) added a 7-6 decision win.
The Falcons had falls from Bartholomaus (106) and Osland (170). Vander Mathiowetz (182) added a decision win. RRC also had two forfeit victories.
Falcons fall twice
Red Rock Central took a pair of losses Friday in a triangular at Lamberton.
RRC opened the night with a 45-31 loss to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunberg. RRC had falls from Damon Holmen (152), Vander Mathiowetz (170), Damian Osland (182) and Cory Anderson (285). Payton Harazin (160) added a major decision win and Zak Zimmerman (126) won by decision.
The Falcons closed the night with a 50-24 loss to Adrian-Ellsworth. RRC had falls from Zimmerman (126) and Mathiowetz (170). Evan Bartholomaus (106) won by technical fall. Holmen (152) won by major decision and Anderson (285) won a decision.
