Boys hockey falls Friday

The Windom Area boys hockey team couldn’t overcome an early deficit Friday night, taking a 6-2 loss to New Ulm at the Windom Arena.

New Ulm jumped to a 2-0 lead after one period, then scored a power play goal early in the third to take a 3-0 lead.

Windom Area answered, as goals from Caleb Rivera and Ethan Purrington in the second period made the score 4-2 after two periods. But New Ulm scored a power play goal early in the third, then added an empty net goal late in the game.

New Ulm outshot the Eagles 39-25 in the game. Goalie Dan Stubbe recorded 33 saves.
