Just days after taking a 6-3 loss to Waseca, the Windom Area boys hockey team turned the tables on the Bluejays Tuesday night, claiming a 4-2 victory at Waseca.
The Eagles cranked up the offensive pressure, outshooting Waseca 39-24 for the game.
Windom Area got on the scoreboard 2:32 into the game, when Zach Espenson blasted a shot from the point that found the net.
Then, in the second period, Sonny Heil knocked in a centering pass on the power play, giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
Leading 2-1 early in the third period, Caleb Rivera stretched the lead back to two goals. Waseca netted a power play goal with 6:04 left on the clock in regulation, cutting the Eagle lead back to one goal.
But after the Bluejays pulled their goalie to try to tie the game with an extra attacker, the Eagles sealed the win with four seconds left on the clock, as Alex Espenson scored into the empty net.
Goalie Dan Stubbe finished with 22 saves in the win.
