For about two years, Janet Hernandez and Victor Acosta have dreamed of opening a grocery store, but felt it was several years away.
Their dream came true sooner than expected when they leased the former Smith Appliance building and opened Latino Universal in mid-December.
“We like it,” Janet said. “We like being downtown and the fact that people enjoy walking in this area and can easily see what is here.”
