Local Red Cross blood drive collects 71 units

A total of 71 units of blood were collected from 62 donors during a Red Cross blood drive held at the Windom Community Center earlier this month.

The 71 units included 13 people who gave “power reds,” or double red cell units.

There also were 10 deferrals.

There were five first-time donors, including Tashia Marsh, Kaylan Donchez, Justin Farmer, and father andson, Brent and Cooper Bramstedt.

For more on the blood drive, including the names of those reaching milestones in their blood giving, see the story in the Jan. 20 issue of the Cottonwood County Citizen.
