Ivan D. Ludeman, 91, of Richfield, formerly of the Mt. Lake and Windom area, died Jan. 24, 2018.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, at 10:30 a.m., at Wooddale Church, 6630 Shady Oak Road, in Eden Prairie.
Burial will be at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
Visitation will be held Saturday at the church for one hour prior to services.
Morris Nilsen Chapel of Richfield is handling the funeral arrangements.
Ivan D. Ludeman was born Jan. 30, 1926, to Ed and Dorathea (Hesebeck) Ludeman in Mt. Lake.
He worked for nearly 30 years as a principal in Richfield Schools. He also led several statewide educational boards.
For the past two decades he served on the Richfield City Council and was dedicated to making Richfield "a great place for families to live."
Ivan was a longtime member of Wooddale Church of Richfield and then Eden Prairie. He was known for his singing, which he continued to share until his final days.
He will be remembered for his community and church involvement, as well as his love of the Lord and family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; daughters: Hope (Larry) Paulson, Joann (Eric) Yost and Naomi Ludeman Smith (Greg); step-daughter, Deborah (Jeff) Pope; and 24 grandchildren.
