Rosella "Rosie" Nerhus, 65, of Windom died Sept. 7, 2017, at Windom Area Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service was Monday at American Lutheran Church in Windom with Pastor Sarah Larsen Tade officiating.
Special music was provided by Dustin Stevens, pianist; and Kris Pfeiffer, vocalist.
Casket bearers were Alex Peiffer, Matt Farber, Cullen Andera, Jesse Snider, Austin Westerman and Cody Westerman.
Honorary bearers were Parker Westerman, Eli Maznio, Amelia Farber, Deegan Farber and Henley Andera.
Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Rosella "Rosie" Veen was born Nov. 19, 1951, to George and Marion May (Baumgard) Veen in Worthington. She received her education in Worthington Public Schools, graduating in 1969. She moved to Windom in 1973.
In 1986, Rosie married Roger Nerhus. Rosie worked at The Toro Company in Windom, as a cook at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom and then in housekeeping at Windom Area Hospital until her retirement in 2011.
In 1993, she was baptized in Windom and continued her faith journey as a member of American Lutheran Church in Windom, where she helped with Meals on Wheels and served as an usher.
Rosie also volunteered at the Windom Area Sharing Center for many years.
She enjoyed reading; watching TV, especially Westerns; her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and holiday get-togethers and Friday night suppers.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Betty Watje, Joann Aguilera and Judy Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Nerhus of Windom; two daughters, Tina Peiffer (Jesse Snider) of Windom and Stacy Westerman of Milford, Iowa; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Diann) Veen and Jim (Deb) Veen, all of Worthington; and a sister-in-law, Jan (Lee) Jensen of Apple Valley.
