Judith Eitzen, 70, of Boulder, Colo., formerly of Windom and Mt. Lake, died Aug. 29, 2017, in Chaska after a battle with brain cancer.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Bertas Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chaska is handling the funeral arrangements.
Judith Elaine Grantz was born March 25, 1947, to Leland and Constance (Roemer) Grantz in Jackson. The second of three children, she grew up in Windom, then Mt. Lake, graduating from Mt. Lake High School in 1965.
She moved to California to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, graduating in 1980 from the College of the Redwoods in Eureka, Calif., as a registered nurse.
She worked as an RN for 36 years, including 10 years as director of nursing at Westbrook Good Samaritan Society in Westbrook.
In 1996, Judy married William Eitzen of Boulder, Colo. She moved to Boulder with her daughter, Jani, where she continued her career as a nurse in home health care for the next 20 years.
Judy loved animals, especially dogs. She had two Yorkies, Luc and Reina, and a grand-puppy, Lana.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Grantz.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Eitzen of Boulder, Colo.; daughter, Jani (Josh) Grantz of Plymouth; sister, Kathleen Donnelly of Chaska; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Muckenhirn of Buffalo.
