Carol Ewert, 95, of Windom died Aug. 21, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Funeral services were Friday at United Methodist Church in Jeffers with Pastor Wesley Johnson officiating.
Special music was provided by Elizabeth Johnson, organist; and Morgen Pedersen, vocalist.
Casket bearers were Steve Gode, Jim Flaming, Harlen Fisk and Allan Rempel.
Interment was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in rural Windom.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Caroline "Carol" Teresa Barina was born April 28, 1922, to Joseph and Josephine (Jakowbek) Barina in Rothsay. She was baptized and later confirmed in the Catholic church in Wahpeton, N.D.
Carol received her education in Wahpeton.
In 1968, Carol married Perry Ewert at United Methodist Church in Heron Lake. For many years, they lived in Jeffers.
Carol worked as a waitress at Tork's Cafe and several other cafes in addition to babysitting for many years in Jeffers.
Three years ago, Carol and Perry moved to Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Carol was a longtime member of United Methodist Church in Jeffers, where she was a member of the choir and ladies circle. She also was a longtime member of the Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed caring for Perry, shopping, embroidery, playing cards, cooking, baking and caring for the children she babysat.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Perry Ewert of Windom; four children: Alen (Janine) Smith of Jamestown, N.D.; Clifford (Charlotte) Anderson of Maryland; Dianna (Jerry) Jacklitch of Baxter; and Edith (Jimmy) Harris of Southaven, Miss.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
