Otto Just, 103, of Heron Lake and Windom died Aug. 22, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake with Father Patrick Arens officiating.
Special music was provided by Jayne Miranowski, organist; and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Choir, vocalists.
Lector was Pat Bonnell. Mass servers were Thomas Bartosh and Joseph Bartosh.
Casket bearers were Otto's grandchildren: Cindy Dischner, Tasha Roufs, Kelly Just, Melissa Underdahl, Kara McPipe, Chandra Rowland and Crystal Diehl.
Interment was at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Heron Lake.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom handled the funeral arrangements.
Otto L. Just was born Aug. 5, 1914, to John and Amelia (Fried) Just in Heron Lake. He received his education in a Heron Lake country school. He was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake.
In 1940, Otto married Viola Schmitz in Dundee. For many years, Otto and Vi farmed in the Heron Lake area.
In 1965, they moved to Windom and lived in a home they built until 2000, when they moved to Heron Lake.
After Viola's death in 2007, Otto continued living in Heron Lake. He recently moved to Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Otto was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake and the Foresters.
He enjoyed gardening, coffee at Hardee's with the guys and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife Viola, Otto was preceded in death by two sons, Allen and Loren Just; a daughter, Arleen Rowland; and six brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his son, Clayton (Sharon) Just of Medford; a son-in-law, Loren Rowland of Rushmore; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
