Harry Bekx

Harry Bekx, 88, of Windom died July 31, 2017, at Windom Area Hospital.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom.
Special music will be provided by Colleen Ortmann, organist, and Nadine Forman, vocalist.
Honorary bearers will be Sean Wiles, Ashley Nagy, Michael Macgregor, Matt Macgregor, Kaitlyn Lohse and Ryan Lohse.
Usher will be Malon Thompson.
Interment will be held at a later date in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Windom.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom and continue Saturday at the church for one hour prior to the service.
LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom is handling the funeral arrangements.
Harry Bekx was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Aarle-Rixtel, Netherlands to Edward and Laura Bekx.
Harry worked on the family farm until he married Ann on April 22, 1954. On May 7, 1954, Harry and Ann immigrated to Canada, where Harry worked on a farm until they moved to the United States in 1955. The first lived in Iowa, then moved to Fulda in 1973.
Harry loved farm life and raising his three daughters. He enjoyed raising livestock and had a love of animals, especially horses. He also enjoyed gardening with Ann, dancing, playing cards and joking around with family and friends. He enjoyed his Monday morning meetings with the Bald Eagles Club and spending time with his good friend Francis.
His greatest joys were his three daughters, his grandchildren and his great-grandson.
Harry was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Windom.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife Ann, his parents and nine siblings.
Survivors include his three daughters: Therese (Joe) Zieske of Fulda; Lorraine (Doug) Lohse of Windom; and Nancy Macgregor of Windom; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
