Linda Friesen, 85, of Mt. Lake died July 19, 2017, at Good Samaritan Society in Mt. Lake.
Services were Saturday at Community Bible Church in Mt. Lake with Pastor Dan Strutz officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date at Mt. Lake City Cemetery in Mt. Lake.
Sturm Funeral Home of Mt. Lake handled the funeral arrangements.
Linda Mae Loewens was born April 10, 1932, to Henry S. and Nettie (Seibel) Loe-wens in Mt. Lake.
After graduating from Mt. Lake High School in 1950, Linda attended Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, Neb.
In 1952, Linda married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Friesen. They lived and farmed together near Mt. Lake until 1986. Over those 34 years on the farm, they raised three children and kept busy with farm life.
In 1989, they moved in to Mt. Lake.
Linda worked at Mt. Lake Public Library and volunteered at Good Samaritan Society-The Village and Care and Share.
Linda enjoyed singing, often singing duets with Ralph, singing in a ladies sextet and singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 2013; a granddaughter, Sheila Embertson; brothers, Orlando (Marie) Loewens and LaVern (Amanda) Loewens; sister, Evelyn (John) Stoesz; sister-in-law, Dora Loewens; and brothers-in-law: Vern Suderman, Art Rahn and Jim Schultz.
Survivors include her children: Stanton (Theresa) Friesen of Brandon, S.D.; Bruce (Darla) Friesen of Delft; and Michelle (Kevin) Ratzlaff of Mt. Lake; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; sisters: Elsie Schultz, Alice (David) Hooge and Carol (Wally) Clement; and brothers, Norman Loewens and Jim (Darlene) Loewens.
