David A. Carrison, 51, of Mt. Lake died March 31, 2013, at South Shore Care Center in Worthington after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.
Visitation was Monday with a private memorial service.
Sturm Funeral Home of Mt. Lake handled the funeral arrangements.
David Arnold Carrison was born Feb. 26, 1962, in Minneapolis. He was adopted shortly after his birth by Arnold and Ardyth (Thompson) Carrison of Windom. David received much of his education in Windom Area Schools.
In 1980, David married Debra Johnson of Mt. Lake. They were blessed with four children.
He worked at Moon's Locker in Windom until attending Jackson Vocational School for auto body repair. He then worked at Fenske's Mustangs in Rochester where he lived for almost two years.
Upon returning to the Windom area, he began working at The Toro Company in 1986 while doing body work out of his garage.
In 1990, David moved to Mt. Lake where he began working at the Mt. Lake Body Shop, which he later purchased and renamed Dave's Body Shop. He ran the business until he was diagnosed with MS in 2002.
In 2001, David and Debra divorced and in 2005, he married Lyudmyla Ardanova from Ukraine. The couple later divorced.
David enjoyed his auto body work, watching NASCAR, hunting, fishing, camping and cooking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Ardyth Carrison, and a sister, Karen Carrison.
Survivors include his children: Ryan (Ashley) Carrison of Sioux Falls, Carissa (Daniel Cate) Carrison and Brooke (Blake Spinks) Carrison, all of Mt. Lake, and Tiffany (Jeffrey) Hauglid of Windom; one grandson; a brother, John (Marney) Carrison of Mt. Lake; godson, Jeff Coners; foster parents, DeWayne and Mitzi Rubedor of Duluth; his ex-wives, Debra and Lyudmyla; and stepmother Janet Carrison of Windom.
