Inez Nichols, 91, of Windom, formerly of Storden, died Feb. 18, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Services were Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Windom with Pastor Art Miller officiating.
Special music was provided by Carol Vought, organist; and Waylon Arndt, vocalist.
Casket bearers were Eric Majerus, Steven Majerus, Nic Nichols, Brandon Nichols, Brian Nichols, Waylon Arndt and Brandon Ambrose.
Honorary bearers were Leesa Arndt, Kellie Nichols, Janell Nichols, Cheryl Nichols, Kathy Nichols, Rachel Nichols and Brenda Nichols.
Interment was at Amo Township Cemetery in rural Storden.
Inez Lucille Swanson was born Dec. 10, 1921, to Palmer and Ruth Marie (Rank) Swanson in Wilder. She was baptized and later confirmed at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Windom. She received her education at the Wilder schoolhouse, graduating in 1939.
In 1955, Inez married Clinton Nichols at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Windom. Inez and Clinton moved to Amo Township in Cottonwood County where they lived and raised their family until 2002 when they moved into Windom.
For 30 years until her retirement, Inez worked at the Sears store in Windom.
Recently, Inez became a resident of Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom.
Inez was a member of Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Windom.
She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, board games, latch hooking, baking for loved ones and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Schmidt and Lila Mae Swanson; and a great-granddaughter, Jazmine.
Survivors include her husband, Clinton C. Nichols of Windom; four children: Ruth (David) Majerus, Clinton Jr. (Judy) Nichols and Keith (Denise) Nichols, all of Lakefield; and Steven Nichols of Windom; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and special companion, Muffy.
