Tammy Willaby, 53, of Mt. Lake died Dec. 25, 2012, at her home after battling cancer since her diagnosis in February.
Funeral services were Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mt. Lake with Rev. Peter Kufahl officiating.
Interment was at Mt. Lake City Cemetery in Mt. Lake.
Tammy Jo Fredin was born June 3, 1959, to Kenneth and Marian A. (Kremmin) Fredin in Mt. Lake. She was baptized and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith.
Tammy graduated from Mt. Lake High School in 1977 and studied at Mankato State College for two years. She worked for Swift, Land O' Lakes, Jungas Hardware, Darfur Elevator and Sperry (now Univac).
In 1987, Tammy married Douglas Willaby at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Tammy was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was responsible for the Cradle Roll and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also volunteered at school.
Tammy enjoyed cooking, baking and canning and was known for her knitting, making Christmas stockings for family members. On the farm, she picked rock with her sons, Derrick and Travis, chopped and raked corn stalks, gave rides, ran errands and, more recently, worked on their house addition.
She will be remembered as hardworking, persistent, supportive and willing to help whenever needed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Fredin; and nephew, Adam Willaby.
Survivors include her husband, Doug, and sons, Derrick and Travis, all of Delton Township; mother, Marian Fredin of Mt. Lake; parents-in-law, Arnold and Leona (Schultz) Willaby of Selma Township; siblings: Trudy Fredin and husband Al Trippel of Savage and Scott Fredin and special friend Tomi Reiners of Prior Lake; and siblings-in-law: Dan Willaby, Dennis Willaby and Dean (Stephanie) Willaby, all of Mt. Lake, and Debra (Andy) Voit of Shakopee.
