Elaine Heddens, 86, of Mt. Lake died Oct. 18, 2012, at her home.
A memorial service was held Monday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mt. Lake with Pastor Peter Kufahl officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Sturm Funeral Home of Mt. Lake handled the funeral arrangements.

Elaine Grover was born June 12, 1926, to Henry and Elise (Handy) Grover. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.
After graduating from Gonvick High School in 1944, she attended state universities in Bemidji and St. Cloud. She was an elementary school teacher for five years.
In 1948, Elaine married Samuel "Sam" Heddens. They lived in St. Cloud, Fulda, Windom and Mt. Lake.
Elaine was a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Federated Literary Club and Iota Study Clubs. She also was a member of 15 Club and bridge clubs.
She taught Sunday School and was a member of the Altar Guild and Lutheran Women's Missionary League at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mt. Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam in 1995; sisters, Lauraine Sova and Donna Repulske; and a brother, Paul Grover.
Survivors include her daughters, Kristine (G. David) Peterson of West Des Moines, Iowa; and Karen (Roy Forsstrom) Heddens of Boise, Idaho.
