Voice concerns with the draft Nitrogen Fertilizer Rule
The Minnesota Corn Growers Association submitted a letter to Gov. Mark Dayton last week advocating for the immediate release of both the draft Nitrogen Fertilizer Rule and detailed GIS maps, followed by a 90-day comment period.
As president of MCGA, I also testified in front of the Minnesota House Agriculture Policy last Thursday and reiterated these requests, as well as Minnesota corn farmers' continued commitment to sustainability and best management practices.

A fantastic concert
If you missed last week's Windom Area High School 2018 Hall of Fame Concert in the school's Gold Gym, you missed a dandy!
I know I say this often, but it was truly one of the best concerts I've heard at WAHS.

The rest of the story
Last week, I finally had the chance to run a story I had been waiting to run for a while.
I got to talk to Dale Werner, who started up the Mt. Lake High School wrestling program in the 1967-68 school year.
Since then, there has been quite a bit of success.
Three Mt. Lake students have captured state wrestling championships - Anthony Elg, Travis Elg and Spencer Johnson. All three won state titles as part of the paired Cobra program.

A jolt from the white
Last week's thunder snow gave us an early reminder that spring and the dangers of lightning are very real. Several of our customers' homes were struck by lightning, or lightning struck nearby. This resulted in two dead computers, that we know of, and damage to other electronics.
This is an early reminder to help us protect our electronics during the spring and summer storm season. Here some tips to follow.
