Make the commitment and show up
I've tried to tell my children that when they commit to doing something, make a serious commitment, show up each and every time and give 100 percent effort.
That's why some of the events of the past couple of weeks have me not only puzzled, but a bit disappointed as well.

What are you leaving behind?

Wilder Pageant connections
Last week, I shared about a local connection to the Wilder Pageant productions being held weekends on the pageant site near Walnut Grove.
Lauren Frommelt, the granddaughter of Dennis and Marlys Beukelman of Jeffers, plays the part of "Nellie Oleson." She's been spending the summer with her grandparents in Jeffers so she can rehearse and act in the shows which are staged Friday and Saturday through July 26.

Toro turned 100 last week
Thursday was a big day for the Toro Company. It was Toro's 100th birthday.
That's a big milestone for a company that has been awful good to Windom over the years.

Big 'Reunion Weekend' coming
If you were a fan of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books or, more aptly, a fan of the 1970s TV show Little House on the Prairie, you will want to make Walnut Grove your stay-cation destination, July 25-27.
