Building new much more costly than saving old wetlands
I hope if you were fishing in Southwest Minnesota for last Saturday's walleye opener you gave water quality and quantity some thought. You might have, like I, noticed cleaner water in both stream and pond this year. Reason is, no doubt, no heavy spring snow melt and at least until possibly last Sunday for some areas, no heavy rains. The result; no recent nutrient or sediment overloads from excessive runoff into our water bodies.
