Cold enough for you?
A quick stop at a local convenience store for a jug of milk.
That was the plan.
Upon entering the store, a guy standing by the coffee, grinned and greeted me with, "Cold enough for you?" I laughed.
That question is soooo Minnesotan.
I feel like there is no great answer, which is fine because the guy really didn't expect one. He was simply being that day's "convenience store comedian," making it more than a quick milk stop. The store should pay him.
At the time, the temperature was zero. The weather app on my phone said "feels like -12."
I've never really understood the theory of two temperatures - a real temp and a "feels like" temp. Maybe we should just use the "feels like" temp.
Anyway, my answer to the guy's "cold enough" question could have been: "Not really. As a hardy Minnesotan, I favor minus-10 degrees." Or, I could have said, "Ordinarily, this is cold enough. But, I wore my Under Armour Men's Cold Gear today. So really, a few more degrees below zero wouldn't phase me."
Instead, I chuckled, and replied in my best Norwegian brogue: "Uff da."
