Democrats want to go over the fiscal cliff

Democrats want to
go over the fiscal cliff
When I was growing up in the 1950s and 60s, I believed that I was a Democrat, a party of the farmers and labors, the party of the common man, the underdog.
Somewhere in the 1970s or 80s they took up the belief that abortion was acceptable, and later on, that gay marriage was acceptable and part of the platform.
In the 90s I realized that they did not represent me any longer. It seems that if an issue that is a common sense approach or an obvious solution, the Democrats as a party do the opposite.
The present approach of our elected leaders is to raise the revenue by raising the taxes on the richest members of society. The Republicans seem to be resisting that approach. Both parties are proposing back-and-forth options that each know the other will reject while the rest of us hold our breath and await a $2,000-plus tax raise
By allowing us, the taxpayers, to go off the fiscal cliff, the Democrats are raising the taxes and the military cuts happen automatically. The Democrats can then come in and cherry pick and give us tax cuts and other perks that we would have had if they could have reached an agreement in the first place.
We will then think they are heroes and go on to re-elect the incredibly inert Sen. Al Franken, who has done less than nothing during his term as a U.S. Senator, except vote as the president wants him to vote.
An incredible number of Obama's sheep out there who believe his agenda is to spread the wealth to the common man will eventually see that this has been the least transparent president in our history. It will cause this county to implode - thanks to overspending - within the next two years. Then we will be on equal footing with the other Third World Countries and have the same rights they do.
If you don't believe me, Google agenda 21 and the small arms treaty that Obama signed just hours after being re-elected.
