Eagles roll past Chargers Tuesday

WWG 16-10-11 = 0
Windom 25-25-25 = 3

The Windom Eagle volleyball team kept Westbrook-Walnut Grove on the defensive all night Tuesday, securing a 3-0 sweep at Windom.

Windom saw a marked improvement from the service line with fewer errors and better accuracy, which kept the Chargers out of system and prevented WWG from effectively setting up an attack.

After pulling away late in the first set, the Eagles opened the second set with a 9-0 run, then used a long scoring run in the third set to close out the sweep.

Porsha Porath led Windom at the service line, going 15-of-15 with four aces. Halle Jackson was 12-of-12 with two aces.

Maurissa Isaacs led the Eagles with 13 kils. Porath added 10 kills. Katelyn Nichols had three solo blocks and Becca Hacker recorded 21 set assists.

For WWG, Halle Steen went 7-of-9 serving with three aces. Talitha Horkey was 7-of-7 with two aces.

Kelsey DeSmith and Horkey each had three kills to lead the Chargers. Grace Woelber finished with nine set assists. Brittany Erickson had two solo blocks and Emma Wahl finished with 10 digs.
