Eagles take sixth at BSC Meet
The Windom Eagle boys and girls each finished sixth in the small school division standings at the Big South Conference Meet, held Saturday in Fairmont.
The Eagle boys finished with 67 points. Redwood Valley won the team title with 156.
The Eagle girls finished with 60½ points. Luverne won the team title with 167.
Individually, the Eagle boys were led by John Irwin, who captured Windom's lone first-place finish for the day, winning the 3,200-meter run (10:04.33). Isaac Tade was second in the 800, finishing with a career-best time of 1:59.76. Nickolas Green finished third in the 1,600 (4:54.39). Windom's team of Nickolas Green, Evan Wiens, Daniel Green and Irwin finished second in the 4x800 relay (8:35.67).
For the girls, Delaney Smith finished third in the discus (104-9) and fourth in the shot put (36-4¼). Gracie Bucher was third in the 800 (2:30.37). Christianna Green took fourth in the 1,600 (5:52.80). Windom's team of Bucher, Jadyn Wormstadt, Eliana Tade and Green finished second in the 4x800 relay (10:23.75).
