Huskies edge Eagle baseball

JCC 000 001 0 = 1-3-0
Windom 000 000 0 = 0-1-3

A sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning proved to be all the offense Jackson County Central needed Thursday as the Huskies defeated the Windom Eagle baseball team 1-0 at Island Park.

The game was scoreless until the sixth. Ryan Christopher drew a walk, stole second, advanced to third on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly by Chris Gumto.

Three Eagle pitchers held JCC to just three hits in the game, but the Eagles were able to coax only one hit from a trio of JCC pitchers. Luke Gilbertson's two-out double in the top of the first was Windom's only hit.

Windom's best chance to score came in the top of the seventh. Gilbertson drew a one-out walk and stole second, but was thrown out attempting to steal third.

Gilbertson took the pitching loss, working the final 2-2/3 innings in relief. He allowed one run without a hit, walked one and struck out three.
