Eagle boys first, girls second at Slayton
The Windom Eagle track team turned in a strong performance in chilly conditions Thursday at the four-team Rebel Relays, held in Slayton.
The Eagle boys won the meet with 169 points, edging host Murray County Central.
The Eagle girls were second with 176 points. Canby-Minneota won the meet with 225 points.
Individually, the Eagle boys had first-place finishes from Jae Carlson in the 800 (2:19.53), John Irwin in the 1,600 (4:50.51), Nickolas Green in the 3,200 (10:49.26) and Yanick Tade in the pole vault (10-0). The Eagles also won the 4x800 (8:53.80) and sprint medley (4:10.84) relays.
Runners-up for the Eagle boys were Patrick Green in the 3,200 (11:25.43), Andres Cazares-Reyes in the shot put (40-2) and Wyatt Minion in the high jump (5-6).
For the Eagle girls, individual champions were Shiro Ogeka in the 100 (14.48), Delaney Smith in the shot put (37-0) and Lindsay Muller in the pole vault (7-0).
Runners-up for the Eagles included Jadyn Wormstadt in the 400 (1:09.12) and high jump (4-6), Mareah Carlson in the 100 hurdles (19.04), Smith in the discus (106-8) and Ogeka in the long jump (13-6½) and triple jump (28-4½).
