3/21/2014 1:14:00 PM Orth Foundation game set for March 28
A number of senior standouts from the Red Rock Conference will battle a group of Tomahawk Conference seniors for regional bragging rights while raising money for a good cause on March 28.
The Tim Orth Foundation Jamboree Game will be played at the GFW Fairfax campus, beginning at 6 p.m.
The Foundation raises money for children whose families have experienced major medical expenses in the previous year. One of this year's recipients is Kate Jorgenson of Westbrook, the sixth-grade daughter of Jim and Nikki Jorgenson. Kate was involved in an ATV accident last summer, resulting in her having her left arm amputated.
Boys basketball players from the area taking part in the jamboree are Andrew Hempeck, Cody Klassen and Zach Dickens from Mt. Lake Area and Alex Knutson and Shane Buchman of Westbrook-Walnut Grove. The Red Rock Conference team will be coached by Shawn Naas of MLA and Derrick Jenniges of WWG.
The girls roster has not yet been finalized. The only area players known to be attending are RRC's Melanie Kedl and WWG's Dayna Comnick. The girls team will be coached by Denise Nerum of Southwest Minnesota Christian and Sheryl Woelber of WWG.
