MLA 27-21 = 48 AC 29-21 = 50 Mt. Lake Area rallied to tie the game in the final seconds, but a pair of free throws with little time left on the clock gave Alden-Conger a 50-48 victory in the Section 2A playoffs Thursday at Alden.
The Wolverines tied the game at 48-48 and had the ball with a chance to take the lead in the closing seconds. But MLA was whistled for traveling, turning the ball over.
The Knights raced down the floor and drew a foul on the Wolverines, then hit two free throws with under two seconds left on the clock to claim the victory.
Stacey Harder led the Wolverines with 19 points. Rachel Dukes and Signey Stoesz each scored 13 in the loss.
WWG 18-32 = 50 Ellsworth 32-35 = 67 Westbrook-Walnut Grove couldn't overcome early foul trouble and couldn't find an answer for Alexa Huisman Thursday night, as Ellsworth knocked the Chargers out of the Section 3A playoffs with a 67-50 decision at Ellsworth.
Huisman scored 29 points in the game to lead the Panthers to victory.
Elizabeth Woelber overcame three quick fouls in the first half to finish with 16 points for WWG. Mady Johnson added 14 and Emma Woelber added 10 in the loss.
