MLA 104 021 = 8-10-2 JCC 242 00(10) = 18-12-2 Mt. Lake Area battled back to tie Jackson County Central in the top of the sixth inning, but the wheels fell off in the bottom of the inning for the Wolverines. JCC plated 10 runs, including nine with two outs, and ended the game 18-8 via the 10-run rule at Jackson.
The Wolverines took an early lead, scoring in the first inning on an RBI single by Andrew Hirsch. JCC answered with two runs in the first and four in the second to lead 6-1.
MLA answered with four runs of their own in the third. Hirsch laced an RBI single. Alex Gerdes ripped a two-run double and a run scored on a JCC error, cutting the deficit to 6-5.
JCC pushed the lead to 8-5 in the bottom of the third, but MLA regrouped with two runs on wild pitches in the top of the fifth. Levi Jahnke then hit an RBI single to tie the game in the top of the sixth. But in the bottom of the inning, JCC loaded the bases and put a string of hits together. The big blow was a two-run triple by Kyle Luhmann, who raced home himself after an errant relay throw. The Huskies eventually ended the game with an RBI single.
Hirsch led the Wolverines with two hits and two RBI. Gerdes added a pair of hits and two RBI.
Nathan Adrian took the pitching loss, working 2-2/3 innings of relief.
