Eagles, Chargers race at Worthington

Worthington Invitational
The Windom Eagle girls placed fifth and the boys finished sixth Thursday at the Worthington Invitational.

Windom's girls scored 70 points. Luverne ran away with the girls' title with 218-1/3 points. Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central finished seventh with 47.

Windom's boys finished with 56 points. Luverne won the boys' title with 176½ points. WWG/RRC was third with 99½ points.

Windom's girls grabbed a pair of event wins. Holly Larson took first in the discus (98-6) and Megan Muller won the pole vault (9-6) and was second in the 100 dash (13.69).

Christianna Green added a runner-up finish in the 3,200 (13:20.13). Amy Muller was third in the pole vault (7-6) and Windom was third in the 4x100 relay (50.09).

Windom's boys were led by a runner-up finish by Michael Rivera in the 100 dash (11.57). Rivera was also fourth in the long jump (18-7½). Victor Ogeka took third in both the long jump (19-1¼) and 200 dash (24.23). Windom was third in the 4x100 (48.36) and 4x200 (1:37.99).

WWG/RRC's boys were led by three-event champion Jeff DeCock, who won the long jump (20-11¼), triple jump (40-4¾) and high jump (6-2) and took third in the 400 (56.10).

Adam Holman was second in the triple jump (38-1¼). Levi Bunting took third in the 110 hurdles (17.18). Derek Christians was third in the 300 hurdles (46.00) and pole vault (9-6). Tristan Joel was fourth in the high jump (5-6). Meng Vang took fourth in the pole vault (9-0).

WWG/RRC's girls were led by Melanie Kedl, who won the 400 (64.21) and was third in the high jump (4-8) and fourth in the 200 (28.58). Chloe Arfsten took second in both the pole vault (8-6) and high jump (4-8).
