Knights snap Wolverines' winning streak

MLA 37-30 = 67
SESM 49-48 = 97

A rematch of last year's Section 2A championship game saw Sleepy Eye St. Mary's enact some revenge against Mt. Lake Area, rolling to a 97-67 victory Tuesday at Sleepy Eye. The loss ends a 16-game winning streak for the Wolverines.

The Knights hit five consecutive three-pointers in the first half, building a 49-37 halftime advantage. St. Mary's then opened the second half with a 22-12 run, blowing the game open. The Knights finished with six double figure scorers in the game.

Carter Kirk led the Wolverines with 28 points. Andrew Hempeck chipped in 13.

CMC 47-46 = 93
WWG 28-41 = 69

Cedar Mountain-Comfrey's high-octane offense proved too much for Westbrook-Walnut Grove to overcome Tuesday night as the Cougars rolled to a 93-69 win at Westbrook.

CMC raced to a 47-28 halftime lead and hit seven three-pointers in the game.

Alex Knutson led WWG with 19 points. Andy Merrick chipped in 10 points.
