WWG 29-29 = 58 SWU 26-23 = 49 Westbrook-Walnut Grove shut down Southwestern United's support cast Thursday night, which allowed the Chargers to claim a 58-49 win over the Wildcats at Okabena.
SWU standout Courtney Place erupted for 32 points, but the rest of the Wildcat squad was largely quiet much of the game.
Meanwhile, the Chargers had a more balanced performance. Paige Erickson led the way with 25 points. Kelsi Wahl added 13 points. Dayna Comnick added eight and Elizabeth Woelber scored seven.
MCC 25-30 = 55 MLA 21-24 = 45 Murray County Central used a series of scoring runs in each half to claim the lead and held Mt. Lake Area without a bucket during a key stretch of the second half Thursday, claiming a 55-45 win over the Wolverines at Mt. Lake.
The Rebels had runs of 10-0 and 7-0 in the first half, then held MLA without a point for a six-minute run late in the second half after MLA had battled back to tie the game.
Janessa Peters led the Wolverines with 20 points in the loss. Paige Brown added seven points and Whitney Klassen scored six.
