Eagle girls tie Trojans
Worthington 1-0-0-0 = 1
Windom Area 0-0-1-0 = 1

The Windom Area girls hockey team outshot and largely outskated the Worthington Trojans Thursday at the Windom Arena, but the scoreboard after 59 minutes of hockey showed a 1-1 tie in the Eagles' regular-season finale.

The Trojans took the early lead, scoring with 10 seconds left in the first period on a goal by Betsy Thompson.

But the Eagles kept the offensive pressure on the Trojans, outshooting Worthington 36-20 in the game. Windom got the equalizer 5:18 into the third period when a scramble in front of the net resulted in Jolyssa Higley-Purrington stuffing a rebound past Worthington goalie Amanda Bristow, tying the game at 1-1. Addison Beaty assisted on the goal.

The Trojans outshot the Eagles 5-1 in overtime, but Eagle goalie Emily Steen came up with a series of saves to preserve the tie.

Steen finished with 19 saves in the tie.
