Bluejays skate past Eagle girls

The Windom Area girls hockey team was badly outshot Thursday night, taking a 13-3 loss at Waseca.
Windom was outshot 74-5 for the game, but the Eagles were able to put three of those five shots in the net.
Down 5-0 after one period, Alexis Jellema-Baerg got the Eagles on the board at the 6:38 mark of the second period off an assist by Kaylee Rosenkranz.
Two minutes later, Kaylee Janssen netted a goal off an assist by Jellema-Baerg, making the score 7-2.
Janssen netted her second goal of the game on the power play 32 seconds into the third period, making the score 8-3 at the time. But Waseca's offense wore the Eagles down with scoring chances, with the Bluejays eventually putting the game out of reach with five third-period goals.
Emily Steen stopped 61 shots in the Eagle loss.
