RRC 23-21 = 44 MLA 19-37 = 56 Red Rock Central held a nine-point lead with just under 14 minutes to play, but Mt. Lake Area closed the game on a 36-15 run, securing a 56-44 win over the Falcons Thursday at Mt. Lake.
RRC's Jeff DeCock gave the Falcons a 29-20 lead with just under 14 minutes to go. But MLA made its comeback largely from the free throw line. The Wolverines went 15-of-25 from the stripe in the second half, eventually grabbing the lead and keeping the Falcons from rallying.
Josiah Stoesz had a big game for the Wolverines, finishing with a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds. Carter Kirk scored all of his nine points in the second half after sitting much of the first half with foul trouble. Andrew Hempeck added seven points in the win.
DeCock led RRC with 19 points, including 11 in the second half. Austin Price added nine and Henry Rogotzke scored eight, all in the first half.
SWC 41-41 = 82 WWG 23-24 = 47 Southwest Christian's balanced offense and tight defense bottled up Westbrook-Walnut Grove Thursday night for an 82-47 win at Westbrook. SWC stayed unbeaten in Red Rock Conference play with the win.
Four SWC players scored 13 or more points in the game.
Taylor Lindaman paced WWG with 21 points. Alex Knutson scored eight of his 11 points in the first half.
