Windom 25-12-17-11 = 1
JCC 18-25-25-25 = 3

A fun night of volleyball between two high-powered teams saw Jackson County Central rally from a game down to defeat the Windom Eagles 3-1 Thursday in a Southwest Conference match at Jackson.

Windom took control of the first game early, building a lead with good blocking that led to numerous hitting errors by JCC. The Huskies were also plagued by poor serving early in the match, allowing Windom to take a nine-point lead in the first set. JCC rallied, but the Eagle lead never got closer than six points before Windom closed out the first set.

But JCC responded, going on a long run to take a commanding lead in the second set, rolling to a 25-12 victory.

The third set was tied 10-10 when a ball that appeared to go out of bounds off a JCC player was ruled a replay. JCC won the subsequent point on a long rally, then staked itself to a lead it wouldn't relinquish, winning the set 25-17.

The Huskies then kept the Eagles on the run in the fourth set, using another lengthy run to build a double-digit lead before closing out the set.

Holly Larson led the Eagles with 10 kills in the loss. She added four solo blocks. Shelby Mattson was 12-of-13 serving with two aces and added six kills, six solo blocks and 11 set assists.

Hali Tasler went 13-of-13 serving and had 20 digs. Rachel Sorensen was 10-of-10 serving. Jasmine Carlson had a team-high 24 digs in the loss.
