9/8/2017 3:00:00 PM Turf in place for Saturday's ESF open house
The new Windom Emergency Services Facility has a fresh new look today, thanks to the installation of new sod in front of the building--just in time for Saturday's big open house.
The turf was installed by firefighters and other volunteers last night. Jack Kelly, a former Windom firefighter, operates a landscaping business and has volunteered his services to lead the installation of turf and a sprinkler system at the ESF. He oversaw last night's operation.
As a reminder, Saturday's ESF open house runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Facility tours will be held throughout the day. There will be a program at 1:30 p.m.
Guests are welcome to a meal featuring pulled pork sandwiches, chips and a cookie. People can take part in a freewill offering with proceeds helping to pay for a memorial wall.
