Children's Theater performances are tonight, tomorrow

Windom Community Education will be hosting two productions of Prairie Fire Children's Theater's original adaptation of "Jack and the Beanstalk" tonight and tomorrow at the BARC Auditorium in Windom.

Performances will be at 7 p.m. tonight and at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Tickets are $3 each.

PFCT has been hosting a week-long theater camp at the BARC this week. In one week's time, the play is cast, rehearsed and performed. The show's two directors also perform in the show, with local children comprising the rest of the cast.

The show puts an original, music-filled spin on the classic fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk.

PFCT is a traveling, Minnesota-based professional theater company that travels to communities throughout the Upper-Midwest, conducting week-long theater camps, giving many of the young participants their first theatrical performance experience. Plays performed are original adaptations of classic, well-known children's tales.

This is PFCT's 25th summer visit to Windom.
